Hello Dear One,
Can you believe 2019 is coming to a close? I’ve been reflecting on the evolution of my medical practice over the past decade, and want to take this opportunity to thank YOU for being a part of my journey somewhere along the way.
I am especially grateful for ALL of my amazing patients that I have cared for over the years. It’s a privilege to partner with you and your loved ones in creating positive change in your health and lives.
This year has been full of wonderful positive changes in my medical practice. Here’s a quick recap of what I’ve been up to this year, followed by a sneak peek of the exciting new offerings we have planned for 2020:
2019 Highlights
February
On 2/21/2019, my private medical practice, Caring for the Body, PLLC opened its doors for patient care. The main focus of my work is helping people optimize mood, memory and brain function with a whole body, functional medicine approach. I see patients in my office located in Asheville, NC, and also offer telemedicine for North Carolina and Georgia residents.
My areas of special interest are hormone imbalance, the gut-brain connection and the prevention and reversal of memory loss and cognitive decline. Here are two ways that I currently help:
- Cognoscopy – the Ultimate Brain Health Check-up for those interested in brain optimization, and the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.
- Cognitive Decline Assessment and Treatment Program for those already affected by mild memory loss, and other early warning signs of neurodegeneration.
July
Jan Vidmar starts her role as Patient Care Coordinator. For those of you who have met Jan or talked to her by phone, you know what a tremendous blessing she is to me and our patients. I count hiring Jan as one of my biggest wins of 2019!
This July, after over a decade of intensive study in the fields of Integrative and Functional Medicine, I finally completed my coursework with the Institute for Functional Medicine with these two final modules:
- Hormone Advanced Practice Module – Re-establishing Hormonal Balance in the Hypothalamic, Pituitary, Adrenal, Thyroid, and Gonadal Axis
- Energy Advanced Practice Module – Illuminating the Energy Spectrum: Evidence and Emerging Clinical Solutions for Managing Pain, Fatigue, and Cognitive Dysfunction

We celebrated our open house at the new location: Caring for the Body, PLLC 1998 Hendersonville Rd, Suite 24, Asheville, NC 28803. Thank you to those who were able to come and help us celebrate!
