If you’re struggling with anxiety or feeling overwhelmed right now, please know that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. Today we are facing uncertainty and challenges in the world unlike we’ve ever seen. Everyone is grappling with their own unique set of circumstances and concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic. What if I get sick? How can I protect myself and my loved ones? What will happen to my finances, work and career/business? What about the stock market and the global economy? Do I have enough food, medications, and supplies? How do I help my children navigate on-line school work and their emotions related to social distancing? Will my aging and immunocompromised friends and family survive if they get infected?
We’re all sensing the collective anxiety and suffering of our fellow humans…
I’m writing today to share some encouragement with you. This is a special moment in history, a time that is ripe for radical healing and transformation of our hearts, as well as our relationship with each other, the planet and our Creator.
We can easily give into fear and panic, but there is a better way. We can accept the Divine invitation to look for the opportunities for growth and healing in this situation. We can consciously choose how to respond. We can spread love, peace, and forgiveness, rather than contempt, fear, and judgment of others. When we observe irrational or selfish behavior in others, we can assume that they are doing the best they can to cope with this constantly evolving scenario. This is an opportunity to look within and examine ourselves, finding new ways to be in the world and fulfill our life’s purpose. We can help each other as we grieve, embrace our new realities and let go of ways of being that have not served us well in the past.
Here’s how I can help…
Most of you know me for my role as a Functional Medicine physician specializing in brain health. While being a doctor is my vocation, my primary calling in life is to be a disciple of Jesus. For many years I have sensed God calling me to incorporate my faith into my medical practice, and to reach out beyond my clinic walls to help those suffering from overwhelming stress, anxiety, and depression.
