Hello dear ones, I pray that you are safe and well. My heart goes out to those of you who have been affected by the recent hurricanes and mass shootings. It’s been a challenging year for many of us. I’ve faced my own major transitions, grief and loss. Thankfully times of trials can bring us new insights and inspirations to heal and grow stronger and more resilient.
How about you? Are you carrying any unnecessary baggage today? Exhaustion, anger, tension, worry, guilt, fear, shame or doubt? I know what it’s like to be weighed down by these heavy burdens, but thank God, there is rest for our souls.
Here is a Scripture for you to ponder today:
Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. – Matthew 11:28-29 KJV
Jesus is inviting you to lay down all your striving, painful emotions, anxieties about the future, regrets about the past and simply rest in Him right now in this moment.
I leave you with Psalm 23 KJV, one of my most beloved passages of Scripture:
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
